Johor’s proposed #LightRailTransit (#LRT) project will have at least three lines with their respective #terminal stations to be located at Ikea #Tebrau, at the #IskandarPuteri area (at either #Legoland or #ForestCity), and at #Senai.

The entire #Johor LRT project is estimated to cost RM20 billion with a total length of 30km and with 50 LRT #stations.

On 6 September 2023, there was signing ceremony for #MoU between #Iskandar Regional Development Authority (#IRDA) & Korea Railroad Research Institute (#KRRI).

The MoU is to carry out Proof of Concept (#POC) for Traffic Signal Prioritization System (#TSPS) related to the Iskandar Rapid Transit (#IRT) project.

The POC will help IRT in terms of efficient operation & smooth traffic along the #Tebrau IRT Main Trunk at Jalan Tebrau when it is implemented soon.

After much delay over the years, Johor Bahru’s Bus Rapid Transit (#BRT) is targeted for stage-one operation rollout by the third quarter of 2025.

Deemed as the backbone of the Iskandar region’s revamped #publictransport system known as Iskandar Rapid Transit (#IRT), the 55km high-capacity dedicated #buslane is set to feature three lines, namely #IskandarPuteri with 15km stretch, #Skudai (18km), and #Tebrau (22km).

Crossing the #Straits of #Tebrau, the Marine Viaduct terrestrial bridge is 750 meters long from the shoreline of Stulang Laut.

Moreover, few meters from the #Malaysia - #Singapore #border, pier 47 will be the penultimate pier for the RTS Link Project on the Malaysian’s side and will be connected by a drop-in span with pier 48 from the Singaporean’s side.
