#Toronto: instead of using Uber or Lyft (which are a bad deal for drivers), you can use the TaxiClub app to call a local taxi.

An actual taxi! The app displays estimated price, expected time, and where your taxi is in real time (useful, when they get lost in a messy numbering zone!)

I asked a driver, who'd worked for Uber and then moved to a taxi, and he said the latter was a much better deal for him. Sold.
