Indonesia has a contract for Thorium Reactors along their more isolated coastline/islands, and it may be why maritime cargo applications are now being 'pushed' publicly. The fact is; it was done decades ago and squashed by Rickover in favor of fossil fuels armaments profits.

Greed... imagine that.

China is outperforming the rest of the world, combined. How is it that a Communist country can so easily dominate the clean energy sector, when "the free world" is supposed to be so much more superior?

The current US Administration, which is nuclear power 'friendly', has failed to reclassify tech like #TMSR (Thorium Molten Salt Reactor) in order to counteract increasing effects, of burning fossil fuels. What more proof do we need that greed is crushing #GenZ and their children?

Video Building the case for Thorium powered SMRs

@Byrnejmf CATL has recently doubled down on Sodium Ion battery tech increasing energy density, once again, to compete for larger EV's, and completely replacing Lithium in battery storage - and that includes solar/wind storage.

Lithium requires far more extensive mineral byproducts for mass production, where Sodium does not, and is far more temperature sustainable.

For the world's largest battery producer to go directly against the technology that has brought them to prominence, is a major shift in the #EnergyTransition movement. SMR's are only as feasible as liquid Thorium reactor tech #TMSR because of the far greater availability of solid fuels for Plutonium enrichment, and the liquid form adding more heating options for industrial applications - including desalination and Sodium Ion battery production.

This tech has been available for development since the 1970's, but has suffered continued suppression by US fossil fuels interests, as well as the Cold War push for nuclear bombs. China has recently refueled its Thorium reactor live, without shutting down, unlike hard fuels and larger reactors in pressurized water applications - some of which SMR's are now utilizing.

But don't bet on the US in investing in this at all - especially with retiring politicians that are at the beckon call of fossil fuels.

China leads all other nations combined, in #renewables.

@johncarlosbaez The Protactinium reference reminded me of the striving Weinberg went through with #TMSR technology, only to be suppressed by the government opting for Plutonium and ... killing people instead of helping with vital #BaseloadPower

@thejapantimes Hopefully it can be one of the liquid Thorium molten salt reactors, which reportedly have far less availability for weapons grade Plutonium enrichment.

This is fascinating technology, but I wish we could get to their testing phase sooner, rather than watch China monopolize the field for the foreseeable future...

Most of Congress doesn't know most of the extent, of nuclear testing that's been done in the past few decades - and rightfully so. The most dangerous man made invention, capable of genocide - even beyond continuing to burn fossil fuels with catastrophic fallout - is the H-Bomb (and beyond). The CIA, as a rule, strives to break the chain of command, to protect them; so disinformation is a natural application in the propaganda equation.

But using the ultimate destructive power of 'beyond H-Bomb tech', to distract opposing pressures to correct the course of a failing America; is beyond unethical. Gen Z should be preparing even more for a major shift in power.

Ben's take on Copenhagen Atomics' Thorium Molten Salt Reactor, and timelines with China's refueling success...

China already has a huge advantage with its Belt and Road Initiative, existing relations with developing countries that don't suffer fossil-fuels-locked grids, and deeply entrenched ecosystems like most modern industrialized nations do.

But with increasingly destabilizing ecosystems from more autocracies, vacillating climate crises and their fallout; I'm not expecting much to come of this. What about you?

Thorium Power Breakthrough — Safe, Clean, and Almost Infinite

YouTube

Although the time to mass produce Thorium Molten Salt Reactors, at scale, with Hydrogen, desalination, a wide variety of isotopes similar to Uranium's, and Industrial Heating applications, has long passed; there's still low probabilities like China's current progress in refueling its #TMSR

This video claims the US is leading along with China, in the field. But the US is DECIDEDLY in the fossil fuels sector, and like many other fossil fuels countries, uses #renewables and #nuclear tech as a deflection away from burning fossil fuels, and crippling future generations.

We could've done this in the 70's, when geniuses like Seaborg and Weinberg were at their peak in the US; but the US chose Uranium and the Cold War so nuclear weapons could be used in abuse of power, at the greatest scale. By now we could've ironed out all the problems and had mass production, globally, while conquering Green House Gases and leaving a better world for our progeny.

Reap what you sow.
