One of the most incredible Calligraphers I have ever seen. Also, it's another example of an insect with lots of blue. I didn't notice the blue until I looked through my macro lens though.

This round is an Eastern Calligrapher (Toxomerus geminatus) taken a couple hours ago in my front yard. The flower must have had good nectar because the fly didn't seem bothered by me at all. I think it may have been laying eggs on the same plant but I couldn't find them after fetching my camera. The stems of the flowers were covered in aphids. A delicacy to these #Syrphids.
