Apparently a fragmentary #SunPillar 20 minutes after sunset last evening from Bochum, Germany, with the Sun more than 3° below the horizon: didn't know that this #AtmosphericalOptics phenomenon - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Light_pillar - was 'permitted' at such a late stage. But it was striking to the naked eye then and but one of several wild and intense #afterglow effects in a very complicated cloud environment. The pillar vanished only when the solar depression approached 4°.

Sun pillar du jour dans un quartier de la petite ville de Hvolsvollur. Non, non, ce rond lumineux n'est pas le soleil. Ce dernier est déjà bien planqué sous la bande de nuages.

Et on termine la soirée avec un petit #SunPillar depuis le balcon. Je suis vraiment content d'avoir cet appartement qui possède une aussi belle orientation du soleil !
