(I already knew that #SugarShack sold at auction a coupla years ago for $15m because GeorgeLucas and some other guy with too much money got into a bidding war. The estimate was only $150k. But I like remembering it, because we should never forget that rich people are stupid, obscene and ridiculous.)

#TIL that one of my favourite pieces of #art ('The #SugarShack' by #ErnieBarnes):

- Was used for the cover of #MarvinGaye 's 1976 LP 'I Want You'

- That Barnes himself adapted the #painting

- That Gaye bought lots of Barnes's work, including this one

- That #EddieMurphy later owned it

Dear Friends,
🍁 It's maple sugaring time. I worked it once during college break upstate New York not far from the 🇨🇦 border. Buckets of sap into a tank hauled by a tractor to the sugar shack for boiling.
