The fact that #SudhaMurthy bowed down to a man known for his hate speech record #SambhajiBhide in the same season when #RahulGandhi and thousands of others are walking across the country against hate says something about the priority of her family, and class.

How shameful that they should be clutching at hate-filled straws, when the tide of people's feelings and actions seems to be slowly but surely changing.

#SudhaMurthy falling at the feet of #SambhajiBhide is another reminder of how venerated bigotry has become around us.

Mohsin Shaikh was murdered in Pune in a hate crime by the Hindu Rashtra Sena in 2014 exactly a week after PM Modi's swearing in. Since then, we seem to have only ceded more space to hate, and elevated hatemongers like Bhide.
