i've noticed sometimes when you show affection for animals usually raised for their meat like pigs or cows someone might burst in and goes "yeah but they're so tasty so i won't stop eating them". you don't have to be talking about meat at all, they just burst in to force everyone to remember that these animals are killed and eaten for their meat. well I'd like to mention unprompted that if you won't stop eating pigs because they're so tasty that you should try some "long pig", which tastes a lot like pork. it does happen to be human meat though, but hey: what if it's just SUPER tasty?
if your rationale for eating meat despite knowing how it hurts animals is "i can't afford to change" or "i'm trying to take care of other things that are just more important in my life", i don't judge you. i myself am not a perfect vegetarian. i just try my best and i recognize that i'm in a privileged position to even have the option.
but if you trot out the lie to yourselves and everybody that you do it just because they're tasty, i'd like to know what you think of human meat when you get the chance. cannibals might be onto something, no?
