Delhi Police has tightened security at Jantar Mantar and at the national capital’s borders after the Samyukta Kisan Morcha announced that thousands of farmers will visit protesting wrestlers in a show of solidarity on Sunday. Police personnel have barricaded roads with sand-laden dumping trucks at the sites. Apart from security checks and patrolling, riot-control teams are also present to prevent any untoward incident. Farmers, under the aegis of Samyukt Kisan Morcha, announced a nationwide protest in support of these wrestlers and echoed the ace grapplers’ demand for the immediate arrest of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president and BJP MP from Kaiserganj, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who has been accused of sexual harassment by women athletes, including a minor. The WFI chief has refuted the allegations, calling them politically motivated and a "conspiracy hatched by Congress".
