The president had a bad night, but the fundamentals of this race have not changed.

"It’s baffling that so many Democrats are failing to rally around a wildly successful president after one bad night. But it does remind me of why Republicans defeated Democrats in so many races Republicans should have lost."

MIKE JOHNSON :
A FAKE TRUMP
Mastodon Post

ABC News has a YouTube link with a file photo showing Donald Trump, taken before his health went into obvious decline. The caption reads,

Stuart Stevens says Speaker Johnson's
support [for Trump] is "the collapse of moral authority"

Here we have Mike Johnson, a fake Trump, making a politics-laden, facts-free claim that Donald Trump is innocent, all the while drawing attention away from a court proceeding which involves evidence and sworn testimony being presented to a jury that was acceptable to the defense and the prosecution. Uh huh.

Duplicity reigns in Mike Johnson's heart.

From the Raw Story article, this quote from Republican strategist Stuart Stevens:

"Donald Trump is very much a candidate of the past. He's still relitigating the '20 election. On all of these issues, Republicans are just incredibly uncomfortable with where America is going.

Say what you will about Joe Biden's age, his best group was under 25 voters in '20. He represents a more optimistic future belief in America."

Can anyone actually on the Republican debate stage topple the front-runner?

The New York Times

Then Stevens adds,

“There is nothing strange or unexpected about Donald Trump. He is the logical conclusion of what the Republican Party became over the last fifty or so years, a natural product of the seeds of race, self-deception, and anger that became the essence of the Republican Party. Trump isn't an aberration of the Republican Party; he is the Republican Party in a purified form.”

"The legislation would come and go, compromises would be necessary, but these principles were assumed to be shared and defined what it meant to be a Republican for the last fifty years.

What a fool I was. All of these immutable truths turned out to be mere marketing slogans. None of it meant anything.”

~ Ibid.
