And here I am sitting in front of four working monitors (three external, two via #HDMI, one via #USBC), all configured through #KDE and using #Displaylink and #EVDI #KernelModules without any faffing around, except for plugging things into the correct ports to begin with. #FreeSoftware has come a long way in the decades since I started using it. And now, more often that not, #ItJustWorks!

So, I’d been looking for a docking station for home too. Searching online, there are many to choose from and I read that one from #Anker works with #Linux even though it is supposedly incompatible with it. There is also a newer model called #DL7400, which again, is only supposedly compatible with Windows and MacOS but I decided to take a punt and get it.

#Linux does it again. My #laptop has three #USBPorts and all those are #USB2 at best. That could be a severe restriction and limit the number of things I could attach to the #computer at once. At work, they provide a #DockingStataion which allows me to run three #ExternalMonitors through one #USBC connection via an adaptor.
