Now for something slightly different: a Medium/Light Star for the Clan Blood Spirit, Alpha Galaxy. The Star consists of a #Stormcrow, #ShadowCat, #IceFerret, #KitFox and a #MistLynx.

Last evening I had time for the first run with Vallejo Sandy Yellow and a few red bits using Vallejo RLM23. I imagine that greenish-blue canopies should stand out well, no? πŸ€”

I chose this scheme primarily because they aren't grey nor black to get more variety in my paintings πŸ˜…

Weeks later I have the final photos of #Stormcrow and #Viper taken and gimped clean(er). Obviously I took a photo of them with the other three Points.

So I recently hit over 100 followers over on my Cara gallery and held a color sketch raffle to commemorate it. Here's a picture of Stormcrow, a character belonging to one of the winners, relaxing after a long day of adventuring.

Stormcrow belongs to Myrr (Cara).

Final steps of the #Stormcrow and #Viper before I dig out the dslr. Minor cleanup, adding the missing caution stripes and darker patches for chipping on the leading hex edge.

The lenses and viewports got a touch of Vallejo gloss varnish. After that I covered the ground of the bases with white glue, then sprinkled Woodland Scenics' ballast. Later I'll brush off any excesses.

15mins more used, and I believe this is it now, unless I missed something.

Now both the #Stormcrow and #Viper have their energy weapons somehow decorated with #jeweling - mediums in green and larges in blue.

Viper's eight Jump Jets got a blue-white effect to make them look a bit more active and less like Heat Sinks. Comments are welcome, as always πŸ˜…

All this in about twenty minutes, and I didn't feel rushed. Before I do the bases and varnishings, I must take some of the excess Sepia wash down, to make these look a bit cleaner.

Another hour later both #Stormcrow and #Viper are gently tweaked. Stormcrow got a bit of blue in the back, while the Viper got steely fists and a blue AMS radar cupola.

Before an #Abteilung502 Sepia oil wash and cleanup I painted the hex base. Front edge blue, the rest dark grey. Now I have to leave them dry in peace for a while, so the next update'll be sometime later as well. Even if I have to clean up a bit tomorrow.

It's been quick 'cause I got inspired :D

More #Stormcrow and #Viper detailing this evening, for another thirtyish mins.

Gentle drybrushing of dark greys, then I did the chips on lighter blues with a mix of dark grey + drop of red. That mix looked decent so I used to paint the Point numbers too.

My freehanding was as foul as always, still attempted to do something for the Delta Galaxy and Clan insignia. Cluster number's fitting is doubtful on these.

Also cockpit attempt with difficult yellowish. Meh.

Some less dramatic progress on the #Stormcrow and #Viper today, another half an hour used.

I did the metallics (joints, barrels, SRM face, ...) again with dark grey, added some Soviet grey-blue onto the blues for a bit of gentle #chipping in hopes it won't look out of place.

For the few caution stripes and the Galaxy lightning bolts I used yellow ochre. For any bears I've got to use an off-white for better conrast, grey doesn't show well enough.

After the Panzer IV and summer vacation I got back to #MiniaturePainting, namely #BattleTech OmniMechs.

I intended to do just a #Stormcrow as a Jade Falcon, but quickly decided to add a #Viper and go for the Ghost Bear's Delta Galaxy. This'd give me a full Star and there'd be no internal grumbling.

This first 30min session followed the previously painted Grendel A's path. Vallejo black primer, overbrushed cold grey, drybrushed stonewall grey and the first UK mediterranean blue panels. Yay!
