I pondered about this before, and the idea amused me because it was unusual. Unusual in the so-called serious models, I think.

Jeweling on periscopes.

Over a black base I painted some greenish blue, then mixed some bright blue in, and finally used the blue, to paint an ever-smaller L shape into the 'scopes. Plus the whiteish anime dots into opposing corners.

Looks fun to me! For a more realistic look I would've done greens, but this stood out better. For funsies

Today I started applying some AK Interactive's super matt varnish on future handholds, then I painted the weapon ports with flat black.

I had a messy list of a plan for the 32 weapons (sans LRMs) and 30 visible hardpoints. I decided to skip an ER Large Laser and a Large Pulse Laser, no one could tell 'cause I paint them the exact same way πŸ˜…

Finally more ultra matt, with patching expected in the near future. Maybe some chips and scorchmarks too?

The three latest Points for the 3rd Falcon Talon Cluster are done, they're just missing the proper photos.

For the ground I used some Vallejo's brown mud, drybrushed with Dirt, and a couple of pebblelike bits painted with Cold Grey for tiny variance. Hex edges and the front stripes got painted with Pz Dark Grey. This was quick and fun, even if I'm slightly less pleased with my #jeweling this time.

I got the Gamma Galaxy and the Cluster insignias freehanded on the legs, but I found no suitable slot on the Ebon Jaguar for a Clan emblem, so it was left without. The unit numbers were left black, I didn't want to mess them up (more) with a light grey.

Last evening's sepia #OilPaint wash got cleaned up, now they're drying in the sauna again. I'll doublecheck the cleanup in the evening, and if things are good, I'll get to the #jeweling part, yay!

Here's a couple of hopefully better photos of each of the Operation:REVIVAL box minis that I repainted a few weeks ago. And the Shilone that just happened to be there, in need of a touchup.

Now both the #Stormcrow and #Viper have their energy weapons somehow decorated with #jeweling - mediums in green and larges in blue.

Viper's eight Jump Jets got a blue-white effect to make them look a bit more active and less like Heat Sinks. Comments are welcome, as always πŸ˜…

All this in about twenty minutes, and I didn't feel rushed. Before I do the bases and varnishings, I must take some of the excess Sepia wash down, to make these look a bit cleaner.

*Now* the #DoomguyUrbie itself is done. I finished the cockpit viewport's #jeweling attempt with white dots, and painted the AC-10's barrel bottom black, leaving the inner barrel still dark grey.

I'd do white gluing the random gravel and Woodland Scenics' ballast on the hex base while we speak, but the cats are sleeping on my storage and I just can't disturb them. So, some other day then.
