Hello my artist friends!

@bbfnart is interested in starting up Draw This In Your Style challenges here in the fediverse, and I offered to help get it off the ground. This is apparently popular on corporate media like instagram, so of course we can do it better!

So, who wants to host the first one? All you have to do is post an artwork in your style with the hashtags below and an explanation of the challenge. Hosting artists get to set the rules (what is allowed and what’s not). Sample rules might include:
– drawing time limit
– limited color palette
– number of entries per artist
(Of course, this being a challenge for human artists, use of generative AI is not allowed. Feel free to start your own hashtag for that.)
Please boost widely if you are an artist or have artists hanging out in your Fedi pub, and follow the hashtags below. Also, if you have a recent artwork you would like to see others interpret in their styles, go ahead and post!

Here's my first drawing of the year (well, sort of). This was my take on a dtiys by Rikki, known as punkdawg on Bluesky.

They made a sketch of a tiger and let us render it however we desired. I wanted to take the chance to do something simple and fun. I found some brushes and decided to test them here. I really like the end result, and I hope you like it too! 🙂
