13-01-2022 CALL TO ACTION 🐓🦠 Wat hebben Oxfam, World Vision en Feed The Children met elkaar gemeen? Ze doneren dieren aan mensen in landen waar honger en/of armoede heerst. Goed bedoeld, maar het effect is tegenovergesteld 😮 Het houden van dieren zorgt voor het ontstaan & de verspreiding van ziekten. Wanneer je een dier doneert, doe je mogelijk zelfs een vogelgriepuitbraak, een slachthuis, een jeugdtrauma, een klimaatcrisis of een ziekte cadeau. Wij roepen daarom op tot #stopanimalgifting ❗️🚨 Hoe kan JIJ helpen? 💪 1️⃣ Ga naar StopAnimalGifting.org 2️⃣ Onderteken en stuur een brief aan deze organisaties 3️⃣ Onderteken de petitie brief 4️⃣ Deel deze campagne op social media! Waarom? 🤔 1. De dieren zijn een risico voor uitbraak van zoonoses zoals bijvoorbeeld de vogelgriep. 2. Volgens Greenpeace wordt 80% van de wereldwijde ontbossing veroorzaakt door het houden van dieren of het verbouwen van veevoer. 3. Door ontbossing komen mensen en gedomesticeerde dieren steeds vaker in contact met wilde dieren, wat een extra risico op pandemieën veroorzaakt! 4. Het doneren van dieren zorgt voor een extra last. Je moet immers zorgen voor extra voer en water in gebieden waar dat sowieso al schaars is. 5. Veeteelt vervuilt ons water, verzuurt de bodem en vervuilt de lucht die we inademen. 6. Elk dier draagt bij aan de methaanuitstoot die de wereldwijde temperatuurstijgingen versnelt. 7. Je kunt ziekten zoals diabetes en hartaandoeningen doneren. 8. Daarnaast is elk dier een levend wezen wat pijn en angst voelt. Het past daarom niet in een ethische, rechtvaardige wereld. On the way back I pass Cappadocia. The rock formations and cave towns are extremely fascinating. They attract millions of tourists every year. And this with a very bad footprint because most of them arrive by plane and discover the area on site by hot air balloon or on a quad bike (picture). The mare and her foal have no choice but to flee. I also say goodbye to this area after a day.

Auf der Rückreise komme ich in Kappadokien vorbei. Die Felsformationen und Höhlenstädte sind extrem faszinierend. Sie locken jährlich millionen von Touristen an. Und dies mit einem sehr schlechten Fussabdruck weil die meisten mit dem Flugzeug anreisen und vor Ort mit dem Heissluftballon oder auf einem Quad (Bild) die Gegend entdecken. Der Stute und ihrem Fohlen bleibt nur noch die Flucht. Auch ich verabschiede mich nach einem Tag von dieser Gegend.
