Aaaand my very last submission for #MonochromeMarch – thank you to the creator of this project for a wonderful month in black and white! B&W is really not my thing at all, but it's been a great challenge to find subjects that could work in greyscale (not many did for me 😂).

This is the #Kriegerdenkmal, War Memorial, in #Magdeburg, just off the #SchweizerMilchkuranstalt (Swiss Milk Cure Institute) building I posted a few minutes ago. The #memorial was erected in 1877 and commemorates the soldiers who died in the Austro-Prussian War (1866) and Franco-Prussian War (1870/71). The Prussians were a bloodthirsty lot. 🫣

Break a leg for #FootpathFriday the 13th 🤞

I met three British tourists at this spot, trying to navigate this part of the #trail in jeans and trainers. They were debating whether to turn around and take the bus instead. I told them it's a beautiful route, but there are plenty of sections just as slippery as this one. The fittest of them took a tumble, and after seeing that, the others decided to slide down the steps on their bums instead. I didn't stick around to see if they turned back, as I was heading toward the #Bastei rock formation in the opposite direction. Either way, climbing back up those steps would have been quite the challenge. 😅

Wir waren letztens in Paris und da gabs in manchen Passagen in gefühlt jedem Ladengeschäft eine individuell gestaltete enge Wendeltreppe. Diese hier ist zwar eher klassisch, aber hat mir mit ihrem leicht morbiden Charme gut gefallen.
