Returning to #spacechem something like 10 years after starting it, to try and finish this thing off once and for all. There's nothing quite like the satisfaction of watching a finished solution at work in a #zachtronics game :)

#Zachtronics catalogue sale now through 10/17, everything 50% off! I love their open-ended engineering puzzle games, and there are a few other genres thrown in there too. Now's a good time to pick up any of their games if you've been on the fence. https://store.steampowered.com/sale/zachtronicspublishersale

Would you play a Warhammer 40K factory game? Because Zachtronics almost made one

If you're a nerd of a certain age, I apologise - that headline has probably caused you to rupture something in the wize…

Rock Paper Shotgun

I recently fell into the zachtronics rabbit hole.

The puzzles are described as "crack for engineers".

Imagine trying to solve problems using alien technology with weird constraints.

Playing Baba really got me in the mood of replaying #SpaceChem , so I am.
Probably the best puzzle game I ever played.
Maybe this time I'll finish it!
I couldn't put my finger on it at first, but the Motherboard mini-game in #GenshinImpact actually reminds me of #SpaceChem .
Really REALLY good puzzle game (and not an easy one in the latter stage).
Try it out, it has my seal of approval.

Do you also have this feeling about #gaming?

I played #Satisfactory recently. I really like it. And I like games like #Spacechem (haven't played #Factorio, but I think it is cool).

Many say it is essentially #programming. And since I'm a #programmer, I naturally love this kind of stuff.

But I can't play them for too long.

Why?

Because I develop software, it's my day job. And develop more as pet projects occasionally. Idea of sinking hundreds of hours more into a game like that repels me.

Trying to play through #SpaceChem again. Like every #Zachtronics game, there's a certain point where the difficulty curve goes from "hard" to "my brain actually feels bruised at the end of each puzzle"
