If you have more $$ than time, you can absolutely outsource all or some aspects of the production, mixing, or mastering. Or all of them. It can get expensive tho, which is why so many of us do it ourselves. That, and having complete creative control. Plus, professionals make it look easy.

All I can suggest is how to get better: watch tutorials, read books, take lessons, practice what you learn, engage in active listening, participate in song feedback groups, keep up on music trends and new techniques, seek out professional (that is paid) feedback and advice. Listen critically to your own material and A/B it against reference tracks.

I can't tell you what makes a #song good, as it's so subjective. I definitely cannot tell you what makes a song great, as music industry people have been trying to figure that out since forever.

I can only share with you some elements that TEND TO make a song bad. And by "song" I mean the whole finished package: the sound recording of a musical piece. Because that's what I review, and that's what the public hears on radio or streaming.
