The investment from Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities Community Ownership Fund will help to deliver plans to revive the space

If the fix of our public finances is the continued depletion of publicly owned asset stocks, what happens when we’ve nothing left to flog?

We live here.’ Though Myrna is fictional, the battle to save Sea Mills is real. Speaking to Bristol Post, a local resident said, […]

Fears for historic building after swimming pool plan 'withdrawn'

The council is "considering our options and next steps"

BristolLive
In 2023 this approach shows little sign of changing; Bristol seek to plug a projected £32m budget gap by disposing of assets like Jacobs Wells Baths. We need to treat these buildings not as a problem but part of our solution; enabling communities to reduce isolation, improve health, educate and engage, as well as acting as local economic multipliers. There is another way if we're brave enough to imagine it.

Community campaigners fear that Bristol City Council will sell the historic building to developers

This is Jacobs Wells Baths, a thriving dance centre for 30yr. Sadly due to sustained underinvestment in repairs this publicly owned asset will likely be disposed of by the local authority in the face of ongoing funding pressures. We need to reimagine a solution for these complex yet invaluable assets if we want future citizens to feel the benefits of shared spaces #SaveOurSpaces #SoldFromUnderYou #SaveJWB
