#SaveJWB Water is the biggest enemy. Lead theft + rain has not been kind; to think this space was in use a few years ago. A sad look at what happens to listed buildings when routine maintenance slips causing Β£1000s in damages. Short term we are looking to stabilise the building and prevent any further damage from water ingress. A detailed structural survey will be carried out to inform Phase 1 Repairs:

A peak under the hood of Jacobs Wells Baths #SaveJWB people talking like we saved it already and I'm like, babies, if this was Everest we're basically at Base Camp. Some distance to travel but very excited by the prospect of the journey #Bristol #heritage #communityart
@trinity are pleased to be one step closer to saving Jacobs Wells Baths. We're all about asset guardianship, not ownership; Trinity & the Council are caretakers. It belongs to the people. It's a leap of faith that we're excited to be taking! #SaveJWB

Fears for historic building after swimming pool plan 'withdrawn'

The council is "considering our options and next steps"

BristolLive
In 2023 this approach shows little sign of changing; Bristol seek to plug a projected Β£32m budget gap by disposing of assets like Jacobs Wells Baths. We need to treat these buildings not as a problem but part of our solution; enabling communities to reduce isolation, improve health, educate and engage, as well as acting as local economic multipliers. There is another way if we're brave enough to imagine it.
