I've noticed a pattern in various places, and it seems to be holding true here as well; of all the self-proclaimed supporters of #socialism and/or #communism, of all the people who claim to hate #capitalism, essentially none of them seem to grasp the concept at all. None of them seem even vaguely interested in opening an econ 101 textbook or even a dictionary.

One thing I will promise; I never block anyone just because I may disagree with or dislike their words. Because the only people who do are cowards. Want to attack me? Fine. If you think that makes the world a better place, go ahead; you cannot hurt me with your words.
In a sad way, it's heartening; they're almost willfully ignorant of even the simplest facts about the thing they claim to hate. They steer rhetoric around and pollute the pool of discussion with their dishonesty, but at least they're unlikely to accomplish much in the real world.
It sometimes strikes me how much #camping, particularly #backpacking, has evolved.
Older books often reference how light someone can travel. They then go on to describe taking two or three hours to make camp, cutting down trees for fuel and tent poles, carrying full-size axes, etc.
Now, you can easily go 20 miles a day, carry all of 10 pounds base weight (#ultralight), and make camp in literally 5 minutes. Then leave the next morning with no trace but a bit of temporarily disturbed vegetation.
"The #school the #government provides is terrible! We should give them more #taxpayer money! #schoolchoice is terrible!"
"The #police service the government provides is terrible! We should give them less taxpayer money or even #defund them...THAT will surely improve the quality!"
To be 100% clear; whether you support the #war or do not, whether you think it has sound justifications or not, the mechanism matters. The #Constitution, the supreme #law of the land, clearly delineates who has the power to declare war, and who does not.
Either you believe in the rule of law, or you do not.
The primary reason #trump is getting away with the war with #Iran is because of the total failure of #congress to assert its constitutional power over the declaration of war coupled with the #AUMF.
It was a bad thing when #biden used it.
It was a bad thing when #obama used it.
Of course, very few people were outspoken about how bad it is when they used it AND when trump used it.
SOME people were. Largely? #libertarian people.
My foray into #sourdough #bagels begins.
I made a HUGE sourdough starter a few weeks ago, then gently dehydrated it and ground it into powder. Now, I just subbed in 80g of it for 80g of flour in the already-proven bagel recipe. Hopefully, it will work nearly as well and produce a good sourdough flavor. I do anticipate a longer rise time. #baking
What are the chances that anyone on here is in eastern #Idaho and also interested in #canyoning AKA #canyoneering? We have several #rockclimbing gyms around here, so there must be some interest.
So what's it going to take for some #DIY #electronics nerd to make a #keysmart style key organizer (or add-on for the keysmart) that has a keyless entry remote built into one of the scales? Seems like the big, chunky key fobs or keys with remotes built into the head really limit the keysmart; this could slim things way down.
Are you a #republican who understands that there's no sane justification for us to be attacking #Iran? Maybe a #democrat who was upset back when #Obama decided to bomb #Syria? Are you looking for a party that is generally opposed to war on principle?
You just might be a #libertarian.
