machine gun shot
words whipped out
both barrels blazing
but you, you,
you’re like
the water
tiny teardrop
dropped down onto
parched parchment skin soaking in warping
like ripples
but so calm
without violence
of stones thrown in
and somehow
levels rise
until I am
buoyant joyous
supported without
ever seeing the way
you flowed in
loving in our
estuarine
union
