More #tabletop #rpg #gaming today. The final room revealed an enemy we’d not met yet- who killed our Assassin (ninja) with their first attack.

The Shikarri detest darkstone and mutation, and their Crusaders aim to wipe it from the galaxy. For every mutation or darkstone gear, etc, you have they get +1 damage on their (normally 2 damage) hits.

They were doing 7 damage per hit against Kiku the Ninja, and ALL targetted her, owing to her mutations and gear. She only has 16 health. 😳
Fortunately, the Samurai had a revive token or we’d have been cooked. Tricky fight.

I love playing #shadowsofbrimstone and am a writer. Naturally, I am going to create my own adventures for it.

The game system allows for some creative ways to arrange outings with interesting mechanics, which don’t require a games master.

I have one great idea bubbling already. May talk the group into playtesting it this weekend. See if the danger level is high enough.

It would be fun to create a printable sheet for it that mimics the official missions, since I already have every piece of art, layout, and formatting software I need thanks to making my own books for alpha readers and e-book sales.

Played #shadowsofbrimstone this afternoon with just two heroes. The final fight looked pretty scary. 6 HellBats and 9 Hungry Dead.

The Preacher went down, but fortunately we still had our Revive token. Finished the fight with 3 Sanity remaining for the Sorceress. Ahem. She also got a Corruption point.

We only hit 4 rooms before finding our objective, luck of the Exploration pile, but still almost failed. Tough game when the dice hate you. 🤣

I don’t like batch painting, but when you need 6 Lizardmen and a Lizard Shaman, well. You just have to buckle down and get it done. Along with 3s and 6s of other enemies. More variety in attacks is more fun.

Hate bare plastic though… 😂

Had a great day playing Shadows of Brimstone with the family, even though they tortured me by opening the boxes from Wayland and showing me what I cannot have for 4 weeks…

They bought everything on my 21 item WaylandGames wishlist, plus three other items. Everything. Just, wow! Itching to get at them.

Second game today came very close to the wire. The fight at the end kept getting more mobs, so much so that we needed FIVE loot cards each afterwards. 🤣 (One per group of enemies that joined the fight)

Have my Mexican Lost Army troops ready for the session tomorrow. Used #armypainter acrylics for a change, with a Sepia wash to get that weathered look, and the mummified flesh.

They are nasty in #shadowsofbrimstone - NEVER stand where they can approach you in formation, those volleys kill you quickly.

Uniform I chose is based on the #mexican army of #SantaAnna 1835ish, summer colours, grenadiers. I liked the clean look.
