Another #SteamNextFest
recommendation for #ShadowOfTheRoad! Look, when I play an indie #CRPG, I expect a ton of jank and poorly-explained complexity, so I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to pick up and understand the mechanics + narrative. But it's not dumbed down, there's still very interesting tactical and dialog choices to be had. Also the setting of magic X steampunk X gunpowder X samurai is pretty cool.

Just finished the #ShadowOfTheRoad demo definitely one for my wishlist.

I really liked the combat & the development system looks promising from what I saw. Gave me an ‘easy to learn, tricky to master’ vibe, which I like, and there’s definitely replayability there with the paths system.

It’s not perfectly polished - still needs a bit of work on the controls & camera movement, but it doesn’t have a release date yet so I’m sure they’re on it.

Looking forward to seeing more
