Jeez... all this Google groups spam running riot in the SERPS... it's a *really* bad look for #Google.

Just weeks after clamping down on sub-let subdomains, this? On their own turf? Wow.

Black hat #SEOs are laughing all the way to the bank... and back.

Follower count will be an indirect factor, though, if it influences the decisions of Google's human users.

If more users click on results with high counts, that will increase the click-through rate. #Google will factor higher #CTR into the rankings, so high-follower accounts will rise in the results. #SEOs will notice, and accuse Google of lying to them, because SEOs still don't believe in indirect factors. Same as it ever was.
