So yesterday I completely deleted windows from my laptop. Now I only have debian on the whole ssd. Windows is backed up on this sd card, after I had executed a reset to factory default during the last
#debienna treff at the
#metalab.
It was an interesting meeting though. It should have started at 1800cet, but I only arrived at 1830. I had to wait for the tram 15 minutes, I left home about 10 minutes later and the tram broke and we all had to leave it and wait for the next one. Anyway, when I arrived, nobody was there yet, at least not for debienna. So I sat down and started the resed to factory default. About 15 minutes later a young man came. By coincidence, he was also a photographer and we started to talk about darktable. Slowly more people came and at the end we were about 6. Some analog photographer happened to be at the lab and heard that we were talking about photography and joined us. And so we showed each other our photos and so on. An astro photographer happened to be present, too. So during the whole meeting, we almost exclusively talked about photography.
Back at home I was a bit annoyed because I didn't know how to contact the gentleman who arrived after me, he had showed us his piwigo website but there was no contact data. Although, I did not even really know why to contact him. But the next day, he contacted me via
pixls.us and suggested that we start a local
#darktable user group at the metalab. Of course I was very happy about his idea. So it looks like we are going to try this, he said that he will write it into the calendar. However, it will be called libre graphics vienna or something like that, so the idea is that we talk about other graphics software as well. He said he knows
#Inkscape and that there are several people at the lab who know
#blender. There is also at least one guy who knows
#kdenlive but that's a sensitive matter for me. I think I have enough material for the first three or four months/sessions. I will just copy some raw files to my laptop, I won't do any special preparation. I guess the program for the first sessions will be: darktable (
#sigmoid ),
#screencalibration,
#rawtherapee,
#convertingnegatives, maybe later vkdt. I am planning an article about advanced/complex photo editing with
#vkdt later this year. Maybe
#pixelfed and
#fediverse as well, I mean for the user group.
