Today's stream featured a hilarious early run wherein my PB improved from 156ms above WR to... 32ms above WR (2 frames!).

But after an hour+ of more attempts, I got the run! About 2 seconds faster than current WR! :D

Guess what? Another #SonicRoboBlast2 #Speedrun is up, this one in the All Emeralds category as #Tails! Not a lot of runners for this one, to my surprise, but I guess it makes sense; Vanilla Tails doesn't have a Super state in this game, so he has no real incentive to go for them during a speedrun.

Yet another instance of autonomous software agents speedrunning recapitulation of the autonomous robot development process.

I think we're up to the 90s now - discovering that complexity increases exponentially as you add new behaviors to your system, and that that complexity requires explicit management or the whole thing self-destructs.

Look out for

- "OMG! We should use learning to design the controls!"

and

- the great schism between "we should design the 'skills' to let environmental context create implicit controls" and "we should generate explicit controls from whatever our first principles are".
