Rudo Towers built from 1973 to 1976 after the plans of the architect Vera Ćirković and engineer Milutin Jerotijević.
Despite the visionary design many problems came up with the building technology and the facade is crumbling. But the landmark still is very popular and initiatives such as #SOSbrutalism are trying to raise money to preserve it.
Music: Belgrade-based band Apsurd used the Rudo Towers on the front cover of their album Derealizacija / Svemu će doći kraj released in the year 2020.

Als wir das Gebäude sahen, haben wir überlegt: Kaufhaus? Archivgebäude? Kaum Fenster, keine Beschriftung zu erkennen. Dann an einer Seite doch noch das Logo von C&A gefunden.

I really like Mies van der Rohe and Frank Lloyd Wright, too. Generally mid-century American architecture. John Lautner. Also fascinated with early brutalism like the Smithsons. #SOSBrutalism was a great show in Frankfurt and nice account on Twitter.
