When FPs trigger childhood neglect (even if they didn't *do* anything to!)
I flash back to being a kid playing alone in my room. Lonely place to be.
My latest project will be trying to teach Little Me the positives of having alone time, because my older selves value it a lot.
We're a median system and I'm the primary driver, so it'll be interesting to try and build more positivity and security for my little self.
Sometimes I think defining #BPD highs and lows with #FavoritePeople as "idealization" and "devaluation"
misrepresents the nuance of intensity, situation, and our feels/responses.
This might be a little jumbled, I'm parsing these thoughts for the first time.
As BPD people aren't a monolith and there are a few "subtypes" of presentation,
there's an inherent explosiveness assumed by most people & docs W/O BPD
and if you have #QuietBPD like me, you may lack.
So I watched #LuckiestGirlAlive yesterday -
It's the most relatable and realistic depiction of my experience with my quiet #BPD and my brand of #plurality I've ever seen, though it pathologizes nothing.
Apparently it's a book, which I plan on reading.
The movie telegraphed more than enough info I could tell the protag was plural pretty early.
I've never seen this side of me represented in media before.

This aversion to random mysterious video, fluctuating volumes, lack of captioning or clear outlines in descriptions also influences the content I make!
Like, once birdsite started deboosting me into the deepest darkest wells and I was like "Fuck I gotta move," people kept asking, "Why not TikTok?"
Because it's not how I like to take in information!
@[email protected] This was such a "OMG, it's not just me" moment. My husband is addicted to TikTok and YouTube and it took some explaining that I will not watch a video if you don't first tell me what I'm in for. When I search for walkthroughs and all I get are videos... Ugh. If I watch it at all, I have to scan it multiple times, because I can't process audio and video at the same time. I'll register one then miss the other and have to rewind. Gimme all the chonky text blocks!
I'm sure there are plenty of folks across many branches of neuro(a)typicality who benefit more from video and find that content the easier to take in. I want that content to exist for them too!
But ALSO, sometimes, a list doesn't need to be a five minute video with the contents of the list.
At least knowing I don't need to carve 5 minutes out of my nebulous void of ~things that are happening~ (official adhd block of time) when my NP tells me, "It's less than a minute long and won't stress you out" helps
but like, oh shit y'all, I am REALLY tired of how many Minecraft LPs I have to sit through and then rewind through just to figure out how to build something.
I APPRECIATE the info exists. I need a text list and that ain't it.

like, we do all acknowledge that there is a segment of people who will not actually start the video at all, right?
Independent of other access needs like captioning and audio description,
you'd be amazed at the myriad reasons your friends, not even just your #ADHD friends, are not actually watching the video you send with info.
My NP had to start being like "it's 30 seconds, not loud, funny animal vid". π
