This is ridiculous and I’ve seen this kind of Speed Limit Lottery in NSW and the ACT as well. How can you expect a driver to obey those posted limits within such short distances while keeping an eye on the traffic, school kids in this case, and their speedometer, all at the same time? These signage practices need to be stopped.

I just found out that hook turns exist in Tasmania! Although only for bicycles. To quote the Tasmanian Road Rules 2019:

**35.**   **Optional hook turn by a bicycle rider**
(1)  The rider of a bicycle turning right at an intersection without a *hook turn only sign*, or a *no hook turn by bicycles sign*, may turn right at the intersection by making … a hook turn under this rule.
