Nacht und Nebel (Originaltitel: Nuit et brouillard), ist ein französischer Dokumentarfilm über die deutschen #Konzentrationslager, insbesondere das KZ #Auschwitz-#Birkenau, und den #Holocaust in der Zeit des NS-Regimes. Der Film wurde 1955 von Anatole #Dauman auf Initiative der Historiker Olga #Wormser und Henri #Michel produziert. Die Schirmherrschaft lag beim staatlichen Comité d'histoire de la Deuxième Guerre mondiale (Komitee der Geschichte des Zweiten Weltkriegs). Regie führte Alain #Resnais. African art with such a deep significance were, w/i the bounds of Western civilisation, “things”. Through the editing, photography & dialogue they speak to the viewer, escaping the institute's walls. This voice was enough for the CNC to cut ⅔ of the film; the segment that's not blatantly #AntiColonial, was to be watched.

JE T'AIME, JE T'AIME (1968) is another of Resnais' stunning reflections on memory, but also on the medium of film itself—a masterpiece of editing that I really feel is about editing and memory, as per Bergson's "cinematographic mechanism of thought."

When I watch this one, I feel like I'm witnessing a demonstration of some of Deleuze's theories in CINEMA II …
