@o76923 OMZ, those numbers seem scary! π±
Fwiw... a couple of months ago my 10 y/o Seagate HDD finally failed completely, going read only during my session, then crashing my subsequent bootups to the rescue screen [it held data, not my OS, but my
fstab ofc wanted to mount it, & now couldn't]. its SMART data had been nagging me for literally years, at least three but i think prolly more, that it had a large number [which i forget, but it was much less than yours] of bad sectors [or blocks? sorry, i'm dim on the nomenclature], & given for almost all that time i couldn't sense anything operationally wrong, i just decided to carry on & see what happens. maybe four or five months ago, the pooter began suffering random complete freezes [ignored even
#REISUB]. since the later failure, then replacement with a nice big SSD, the freezes seem to have stopped. fwiw, fyi. good luck to you!
