You know, if he cuts medicaid & food stamps deeply, he will lose every red county in KY. They literally cannot survive without federal programs. There are few living wage jobs, the people who've owned farms & businesses for generations can't sell & get anything near what it would cost to buy new ones in decent places, and the education is christo-fascist nonsense dressed up in public school drag. They have no hope without UBI or something like it.
Just got home from our No Kings protest. We went out for breakfast with some friends then we all packed into my car to go downtown with our signs. Didn't make new signs, since last years are regrettably still very relevant. The weather was cool at first but got nice later under the sunny skies. Saw several friends & acquaintances. Marched. Several drones overflew the protest & the march. Some chuds in camo were there.
Now I need a nap.
Do not come to Kentucky for any reason if you can avoid it.
Hospitals, Clinics, and private practices will now let you sit there and suffer or die if you are not a white CIS male person.
Good luck finding a provider who understands your situation and isn't a white nationalist christo-fascist.
All of them can refuse to treat you under this bill for *any* imaginary reason.
This is state sanctioned medical malpractice and yes, murder.
Our Red legislature just voted to completely remove local tax ability from the large Blue school system in the state (which also happens to be the top performing academically, iirc) to punish the school system for teaching real history, real science, and empathy towards all races, religions, and cultures.
If you're thinking about moving here, or your biz here, don't. Ky is already near last in ed stats due to 117 red counties.

I cannot urge you enough to not travel to the states shown here in dark maroon. It's not safe for *any* woman or lgbtq person.
Also do not buy products manufactured in any of those states - including Ky Bourbon.
Boycott any biz that has their headquarters in these states unless you know for a *fact* they support LGBTQ rights and are not right wing nut jobs. There aren't two sides here. No money for fascists.

In many Kentucky counties, 117 out of 120 of which are Red, the school system is the biggest employer.
It will absolutely collapse without the federal funds that keep them open.
All these people will lose their jobs, will only be hired back at sub-living wage rates, and the kid's learning will be disrupted for months if not years while the state legislators try to get fairy tale spewing for-profit scammers to take it all over.
Republicans dishonest use of bills by attaching things that have little or nothing to do with the original needs to be illegal.

Just a reminder class, Ky is a state w/ a deep red legislature.
If you come here and your wife, daughter, girlfriend, or mother needs emergency medical care, they will be left to die in the parking lot.
If you are LGBTQ, you will be harassed, and if you are Trans your regular medical regime will be withheld from you.
If you are non-christian you can expect to be treated like dirt unless you're filthy rich, then they'll just smirk behind your back.
