Have been playing a lot of Jedi Survivor on the PS5 this week (a Christmas gift), and it’s loads of fun. Also started Trails from Zero on the Switch. Between those two and playing our Realms of Peril campaign as a family each day, I’ve been having a great time with video games and TTRPGs this week!

Picked up our family Realms of Peril campaign today so the wife and kids could finish out their first adventure and actually level up from level 0. I love how they are all taking advantage of the way this system rewards roleplaying and thinking outside the box. A PC was down to 1 HP during the climactic battle and the 8y.o. tried to convince the boss not to fight (alas, the boss was an unintelligent ooze, and thus could not be convinced to relocate peacefully with words).
This morning I’ve been thinking about the TTRPG games I’ve run/played this year. A lot of fun.
Played: Shadowdark, EZd6, Ironsworn, Magical Kitties Save the Day, 5e
Run: 5e, Realms of Peril, 13th Age, Dungeon World
Looking forward to adding to both lists significantly in 2024.

My Realms of Peril zines came today! Having glanced through both the field guide and GM handbook I have to say I’m intrigued. This is a really interesting fusion of PbtA and OSR principles.
