Hey! Do I know any queer british rail nerds? Do you?
Because the National Railway Museum are doing an oral history project, and they sound like awesome folks. So go talk to them! Case in point: The latest Railnatter where @GarethDennis talks with Ashlynn Hudson-Welburn about, among others, Curly Lawrence: highly influential model engineering pioneer, prolific author, and trans woman.

This discussion brings together rail historians and railway workers to tell the stories of LGBTQIA+ rail workers, marking an exciting new oral history project launched by the National Railway Museum.
Airports hot take, inspired somewhat by yesterday's episode of #RailNatter about airports in the UK:
London's airports ought to have all been located like Gatwick right on the mainline railways. Gatwick, plus one on the Great Western Main Line (instead of Heathrow), one on the West Coast Main Line (instead of Luton), and one on the East Coast Main Line (instead of Stanstead).
Not a suggestion to move them now, but a lament at poor choices made.
It was lots of fun to chat recently about Australian railways with UK rail engineer and social commentator Gareth Dennis over two episodes of his award-winning and long running #Railnatter podcast
Catch up on the two episodes on Youtube here

Or on any self-respecting podcasting platform.
I also did a #RailNatter here

Thanks to @GarethDennis for kindly inviting me...on the basis that I have one string to my banjo, I might as well keep twanging it...
