The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes - The Naval Treaty
The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes - The Naval Treaty
This radio drama is really good - “Theo” by Moya O’Shea
Made in Germany in 1908, a rare cinnamon plush bear with boot button eyes, still with the Steiff button in his ear, discovers he is Lot No 107, and the auction is about to begin.
A 1960s dramatisation of “The Day of the Triffids” is being broadcast on radio 7 [radio 4 extra] at 0630 on weekdays, and is of course available on iPlayer Radio [“BBC Sounds”]. It is quite good, if “of its time”, and I thought people might like to know about it.

If you know the tune “Dr MacKay’s Farewell to Creagorry”, you may also know that it is popularly known as “The Dark Island” after featuring in a 1960s radio drama of the same name.
Its sequel, “Jim Nicholson - Return to the Islands” is currently being broadcast at 6am (and repeated at various other times) each day on radio seven, and is available to stream on iPlayer radio, and I’ve quite enjoyed the first two episodes although they are definitely “of their time”.
