If you know the tune “Dr MacKay’s Farewell to Creagorry”, you may also know that it is popularly known as “The Dark Island” after featuring in a 1960s radio drama of the same name.

Its sequel, “Jim Nicholson - Return to the Islands” is currently being broadcast at 6am (and repeated at various other times) each day on radio seven, and is available to stream on iPlayer radio, and I’ve quite enjoyed the first two episodes although they are definitely “of their time”.

I caught the end of this while drifting in and out of sleep this morning, and it seemed quite good. Radical idea of a vicar actually practicing what they preach.
