«I No sono preziosi», «i No costano fatica», e ancora: «i No aiutano a crescere». Non sono slogan della campagna ufficiale contro la riforma della giustizia ma frasi scritte in vernice rossa e a lettere maiuscole su cinque fogli comparsi ieri, uno dietro l'altro, sui muri al secondo piano della scuola elementare Crispi, parte dell'istituto comprensivo Gianicolo di Roma. Proprio nelle classi di quel corridoio - sarà un caso - domenica e lunedì verranno aperte tre sezioni elettorali per il referendum. E infatti a qualcuno l'iniziativa è subito sembrata ambigua, un tentativo di influenzare in extremis gli elettori, aggirando il silenzio elettorale e il divieto di propaganda ai seggi. Quel che è peggio, usando i muri di una scuola.
«Indipendentemente dal sì o dal no, questa è davvero una vergogna», osserva il consigliere capitolino Antonio De Santis, esponente di Azione, che per primo ha raccolto la segnalazione proveniente dai corridoi dell'istituto di via Barrili. Per ora la «mano» dietro i cartelli è ignota, nessuno li ha rivendicati (ma a vedere la grafia non sembrano scritti da bambini di sei anni) e dal canto suo la direttrice scolastica dell'istituto Gianicolo, Benedetta Ruscica, assicura che non era a conoscenza dell'episodio. «Ho chiamato i miei collaboratori - spiega la professoressa, che ieri sera era fuori città ma si è subito attivata - Al momento non si sa chi abbia messo quei fogli, comunque ho dato disposizioni e domani mattina (oggi, ndr) alle 7.30 verranno immediatamente rimossi, poi cercheremo di capire che cosa è successo».

“Noes are valuable,” “Noes cost effort,” and again: “Noes help to grow.” These are not slogans from the official campaign against the justice reform, but phrases written in red paint and in capital letters on five sheets of paper that appeared yesterday, one after another, on the walls of the second floor of the Crispi elementary school, part of the Gianicolo comprehensive institute in Rome. Precisely in the classrooms of that corridor – it’s a coincidence – three polling stations will be opened on Sunday and Monday for the referendum. And indeed, to some, the initiative seemed ambiguous immediately, a last-minute attempt to influence voters, bypassing the silence before the vote and the ban on propaganda at the polling stations. Worse, using the walls of a school.
“Regardless of yes or no, this is truly a disgrace,” observes Roman councilor Antonio De Santis, a member of Action, who was the first to collect the report coming from the institute’s corridors on Barrili street. For now, the “hand” behind the posters is unknown, no one has claimed responsibility (but judging by the handwriting, they don’t seem to have been written by six-year-olds) and, for their part, the headmistress of the Gianicolo institute, Benedetta Ruscica, assures that she was not aware of the incident. “I called my assistants – explains the teacher, who was out of town yesterday evening but immediately got to work – At the moment, it is not known who put those sheets of paper there, however I have given instructions and tomorrow morning (today, ndr) at 7:30 am they will be immediately removed, then we will try to understand what happened.”
