Gays, Crazies, and Motherfuckers: #Anarchists in the Stonewall Uprising
Towards a #Queer History of Riots and Affinity Group Organizing

What can today’s rebels learn from the Stonewall riots? Why did the uprising have such an impact? To answer these questions, we explore the previously unacknowledged significance of at least two anarchist groups—the Motherfuckers and the Crazies—in the rebellion and the movements that emerged from it. Along the way, we trace a queer genealogy of #anarchist organizing methods in North America from the #Stonewall Uprising through the WTO protests in Seattle in 1999 to today.

The fight to protect voting rights never ends, and right now, we’re witnessing a Jim-Crow-era effort from politicians and their billionaire friends to restrict our freedoms, silence our voices, and consolidate power. But in America, we choose our leaders. We will decide our future. The same spirit that fueled Selma, Montgomery, and the March on Washington lives on in our unified action. Six years after the passing of Congressman Lewis, we're organizing an event in our community to carry the torch, continue the legacy of John Lewis, and pass it forward to future generations. Join us! A core principle behind all Good Trouble Lives On events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events. Friday July 17th, 2026 The Licking County NAACP is hosting a “Good Trouble Lives On” pre-rally at Trinity AME Church: 64 East St. Newark Ohio from 4:30-5pm. Main “Good Trouble Lives On” rally at Licking County Courthouse from 5:15-6pm: 20 S. 2nd St. Newark Ohio. Atlas Data Center South Whitehall Planning Commission Meeting | Lehigh Valley Stands Up · Mobilize

At Lehigh Valley Stands Up, we believe that data centers have no place in our neighborhoods and communities! What is Project Atlas? It is a massive proposed hyperscale data center campus spanning over 410 acres across three parcels along North Cedar Crest Boulevard (near Mauch Chunk Road and Orefield Road). Key details of the current preliminary plan include: Scale: A 5.1 million-square-foot development footprint. Infrastructure: The plan features six data center buildings, a dedicated electric substation, and a massive array of 356 Tier 2 diesel backup generators alongside extensive cooling systems. Local Impact: Because the site sits directly across the street from Parkland High School, the proposal has drawn significant pushback from the school board and local community groups over concerns regarding noise, low-frequency vibrations, heavy water/power consumption, and soil stability. Revised plans were just submitted by the developer in mid- WE HAVE A CHANCE TO STOP THIS! WE NEED TO PACK THE FOLLOWING: 1. South Whitehall Planning Commission Meeting Date: Thursday, June 11, 2026 Time: 7:00 PM Location: Township Municipal Complex (Public Meeting Room), 4444 Walbert Ave, Allentown, PA 18104 Notes: Project Atlas is explicitly on the agenda for preliminary plan review. 2. South Whitehall Board of Commissioners Meeting Date: Wednesday, June 17, 2026 Time: 7:00 PM Location: Township Municipal Complex, 4444 Walbert Ave Notes: This is a regular board meeting where the project may be discussed further or voted on depending on how things go at the planning commission level.

Also Joining Us: Cathy from Civic Engagement Beyond Voting (CEBV), sharing concrete, actionable steps to protect poll safety and election security for the 2026 cycle. Strategy Focus — Demystifying the ACC: The "Fourth Branch": The ACC is a 5-member elected body that serves as the only check on utility companies, directly setting your water, electricity, and gas rates. Broad Authority: Beyond utilities, they function as corporate gatekeepers, regulating business registrations, local investor securities, and railroad/pipeline safety. The Current Landscape: The commission is currently a 5-0 Republican supermajority. Because these are partisan positions, whoever wins these statewide seats heavily dictates clean energy mandates, solar incentives, and rate caps.
