We’ve watched as college gets more expensive, ICE kidnaps our friends, politicians go to war on our dime, good jobs disappear, and our futures get more uncertain. Billionaires want to rig the system, but we’re rising up on May Day because the system can’t function without us! All are welcome - students, workers, alumni, and community members! We'll be meeting at 12pm for a rally to demand affordability, freedom, and safety at our school. Bring your own signs! *Please note: A core principle behind all our events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values and to act lawfully at these events. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.*

Join Georgia Youth Justice Coalition for Action in advocating for public education at your Clayton County School Board meeting. Once you sign up, we'll reach out to make sure you have a buddy to join you and support from our team if you're providing public comment for the first time.

## A Peaceful Stand for the Beloved Community Woodstock CAN, a branch of North Georgia Community Action Network (NGA CAN), gathers every week at the intersection of Bells Ferry Road and Highway 92 for a peaceful, visible stand for immigrant dignity, human rights, and the basic principle that our neighbors deserve safety, respect, and belonging. This is a space built by and for residents of **Cherokee, Pickens, Bartow, Forsyth, and Cobb counties.** **This event is designed for people who live, work, or have deep roots in North Georgia.** If you're more than an hour's drive from Woodstock, this probably isn't your event, and that's okay! We encourage you to find or build a local group in your own community. Our work is most effective when it's rooted in the neighborhoods and county commissions we actually vote in. --- Each week, we gather in the spirit of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s call to build a Beloved Community: one where dignity is not conditional, and justice does not stop at borders. Dr. King taught that injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. That truth continues to call us to stand with our immigrant neighbors and to reject fear, cruelty, and dehumanization in all its forms. This is a nonviolent action grounded in conscience, not confrontation. We stand on sidewalks and in the public right-of-way during the evening commute. No speeches. No shouting. Just a calm, clear presence that says: this community chooses humanity. You are welcome to join whenever you are able. --- **Sign Recommendations** Keep messages clear, legible, and values-forward. Avoid profanity. Aim for dignity, shared humanity, and moral clarity. Good sign themes: - Immigrant dignity - Human rights - Beloved Community - Kindness to neighbors - Justice without borders Sample sign text: - "Dignity Has No Borders" - "Immigrants Are Our Neighbors" - "Human Rights Are Not Optional" - "The Beloved Community Includes Everyone" - "Kindness Is a Strength" - "Justice Everywhere Means Justice Here" --- **Where to Park** We recommend parking at one of the following shopping centers: - Cherokee Corners Shopping Center (with Food Depot): https://maps.app.goo.gl/4XuvNKicVVTzNbEF6 - Shopping center across the street with Woodstock Antique Market: https://maps.app.goo.gl/Cyx4DfEjqzHSj4Tx5 Please be respectful of businesses and their need for customer parking. If you are able, consider buying something from values-aligned businesses while you are there. --- **Where We Will Stand** We begin on the public sidewalks nearest the Waffle House: https://maps.app.goo.gl/TVt1vNP5G1uBfaoh6 Depending on turnout, we may expand along the sidewalks. Please remain on public right-of-way at all times. --- See you out there.

Stop the Bombs: No War in Iran Sunday April 12th, 2026 12-2pm at Lincoln Park in Olean, NY On Easter Sunday, the President of the United States posted on his state sponsored social media platform, a cursed laiden message to the leaders of Iran threatening to send them all to hell if they did not comply with his demands. The next morning he threatened to commit genocide against their entire civilization if the two countries couldn’t make a ceasefire deal before 8 pm. Trump, the President, has told the entire world that he would commit genocide. Freely, he hasn’t tried to hide it - unlike his partner in this war - Israel’s PM Netanyahu; who has already been charged with war crimes for his attempted genocide in Gaza. Don’t be idle on the sidelines while Trump spills blood on behalf of the billionaire class while they jack up the prices for gas, rent, healthcare and groceries. Rise up with us and take action. We know the bombs over Iran are about billionaires making themselves richer no matter the human cost. We stand united demanding an end to Trump's illegal Iran War and also demanding action be taken by congress to condemn Trump’s actions and hold those in power accountable. Every dollar spent in wars overseas or at home is a dollar we paid for with our taxes - a dollar that could and should go to helping our communities thrive. We can have good jobs, better schools, access to healthcare and get our basic needs met, but not while our government works for billionaires and not for us. Join us in chanting, “Not another penny- not another dollar. We won’t pay for war and slaughter!” Join us, rise up strong, and speak up. As always, a core principle behind all our events is a commitment to nonviolent action. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values. Weapons of any kind, including those legally permitted, should not be brought to events.

On April 18th, from 2PM - 4PM, please join the [Fayetteville Resistance Coalition](https://linktr.ee/fayresistancecoalition) and your fellow North Carolinians on the [Poe Avenue/S. Bragg Blvd overpass](https://maps.app.goo.gl/DVtHjDNg8DiGZgN47) in Spring Lake to send a clear message: IMPEACH - CONVICT - REMOVE. The U.S.'s failed war on Iran has exacted an enormous financial and human cost and wreaked havoc on a global scale. Virtually everyone is affected and our leadership has gone rogue, acting without Congressional approval and threatening literal war crimes. We implore citizens to contact their elected representatives and demand impeachment. The madness must stop.
