Join us outside at Courthouse Square as part of a national day of action! Support the safety of our communities by opposing ICE warehouse detention. ICE is moving to lock thousands of people in massive detention warehouses — disappearing them from their families, lawyers, and communities. Without due process, everyone — whether or not they are immigrants — is at risk of detention. These warehouses also divert critical resources from local residents, threatening water and sewerage systems. The government has been scouting, buying, and converting warehouses nationwide for ICE detention. Of 23 planned warehouses, ten have already been purchased, but other deals have been prevented or canceled because communities have spoken out. WE WANT OUR COMMUNITY TO SPEAK OUT. Let's gather to: - Demonstrate resistance to ICE warehouse detention in our communities - Protect community resources like water and sewerage systems - Demand that our elected officials defend due process for everyone - Show up for each other and our shared home Bring a sign. Bring your neighbors. Bring your voice. This action is part of the Communities Not Cages National Day of Action organized by the Disappeared In America campaign and partners including Detention Watch Network, Indivisible, Public Citizen, The Workers Circle, MoveOn and many others.
