Par godu Kvantu zinātnes un tehnoloģiju gadam un kvantu mehānikas simtgadei, ko atzīmē 2025. gadā, visi interesenti ir laipni aicināti uz zinātnisko semināru par Vernera Heizenberga kvantu mehānikas vienādojumiem, ko vadīs Latvijas Universitātes Eksakto zinātņu un tehnoloģiju fakultātes tenūrprofesors Vjačeslavs Kaščejevs. Seminārs notiks 10. decembrī plkst. 14.30 Zinātņu mājas 501. auditorijā.

[Bose-Einstein Condensates] BEC is a biennial conference on #quantum gases and related fields. It takes place in Spain, Sept. 6th to 12th. Yvan Castin, author of 'Condensats de Bose-Einstein' , will give a presentation on Sept. 7th on regimes of phonon damping in a two- or three-dimensional superfluid - an extension of Chapt 4 of his book.

To mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of “#quantum #mechanics” in #1925, #UNESCO has proclaimed 2025 as the “International Year of Quantum #Science and #Technology”. But as is often the case with such “UNESCO jubilee years”, they get lost in the “media mainstream”, especially when it comes to such “hard-to-digest fare” as #quantummechanics.

In June 1925, Werner Heisenberg traveled to the island of #Helgoland to formulate the mathematical foundations of #quantum mechanics. 100 years later, the leaders of the field are meeting again on Helgoland this week. Physicists from Innsbruck are part of it: quantum visionary Peter Zoller, quantum computer pioneer Rainer Blatt, quantum networker Tracy Northup and junior researchers Thomas Agrenius-Gustafsson, Johannes Fankhauser and Lukas Fiderer.
