Interview with the Georgetown University in Qatar Faculty Analyst: “What the Basij (Pasdaran) represents is a very dangerous game, but it’s a strategic choice. And Iran is acting as if there isn’t a rift in its relationship with the Gulf countries. I don’t believe Doha will interrupt relations with Tehran, even the Saudis seem reluctant to enter a conflict they don’t consider their own.”
