The oat genome is highly rearranged, and the linking of these genomes provides an excellent resource for anyone working on oats.

A companion paper (doi:10.1038/s42003-022-03256-5) by Nick Tinker et al. - in which I've also been involved - uses the new reference to develop #markers and #QTLs for traits affecting seed quality and agronomic performance.
