ok I'd just like to shout out to the #Thunderbird team - no matter what/what else #mozilla seems to #enshittification , so far TB is intact. #outlook used to be the GOAT but now its #shit and plugins are $$heckaspensive and also shit. Meanwhile TB chugging along with a beautiful ecosystem of apps that just _work_

Shout out to #Qnote and #quickfilters plugins!

AND - and I know they say you _shouldn't_ but - you can put your mail store in a #dropbox folder.

@thunderbird I did the upgrade [via d/l & parallel-install Release into my /opt/thunderbird_release/ directory], after ofc backing up my current t/b data. So far i like what i've seen, & applaud the improvements. I do like that it seems i can now uninstall the #DarkReader AO, given it's now redundant afaict. Unfortunately the #QNote AO is currently disabled as incompatible, so hopefully its Dev is still around & might update it soon.

With this version a TB icon has appeared in my KDE Plasma System Tray, but it seems to serve no purpose that i can discern. As i was typing this, i received a new email, but the S/T icon does not give any visual clue of a new unread email, which was the only purpose i thought it might have. Why does it exist? I think i shall manually hide it.

So far, as far as i can see, 136 continues the UI omission of 128 wrt management of Tab columns. Specifically, afaict, there is still no global way to apply a preferred column arrangement for one Tag, to ALL other Tags; one must tediously do it manually Tag by Tag, which is a PITA. The only columns global tool seems to pertain only to Folders, which is useless for peeps using a Tag not Folder paradigm.
