It was so freaking cool to play the games at #QGCon this year. It was the first showcase I've attended since lockdown and was such a breath of fresh air to be in the same room as SO MANY brilliant queer people, all making the sickest games you've ever seen.
Today's the day #QGCon www.qgcon.org

September 26-28, 2025, in Montrรฉal, Quรฉbec!

The Queerness & Games Conference is returning in-person with hybrid elements (streamed talks, online community events, and more).

We're hosting panels, workshops, and games that explore queer issues, themes, and sensibilities.

If you are a gamemaker, researcher, activist, or player at the intersection of queerness and games, we want you there!

QGCon is a COVID-cautious event.

The conference will require attendees to wear respirator masks (with N-95, KN-95, their equivalent or better) and will be held in a place with a modern MERV 8 (pre-filtration) and MERV 13 (filtration) air purification system.

We'll be circulating our Call For Proposals soon!
Join our mailing list and our Discord server to be the first to hear about it!

QGCon Updates

Keep up to date on news and announcements from the Queerness and Games Conference

A brand new #qgcon website is under construction! We also signed a contract with a venue yesterday โ€” it's starting to feel real!

Official announcement of the next event is still a bit away

Hey, so I gave a talk at Queerness and Games Conf this weekend on making your own programming language, and it's up on the #QGCon Twitch page!

The talk went over the power dynamics of making your own language, why small-scale languages can be useful in game dev, and there's a demo of making a simple language interpreter (embedded in a JavaScript game).

You can see the slides and the code from the demo here: https://mcclure.github.io/qgcon-2018/
