Dear reader, we are no longer at the usual political double standard. Here we are at an acute phobia syndrome, a russofobia or better, a Putinfobia that overwhelms all logical barriers. I quote a headline among dozens: “La Stampa, article by the Russian-Italian Anna Zafesova, “The insane fury of the Tsar on the verge of a nervous crisis.” There are only headlines like this that are insane. Even disregarding that it was a retaliation for the killing of 21 teenagers in a dormitory, the Saturday balance is proof that the Russians do not aim to hit the population. If they had wanted to, with 90 missiles and hundreds of drones they would have killed thousands of people. Yet, we continue with this delirium of Putin’s “cruelty,” angry Putin, butcher Putin, executioner Putin, etc. These are completely incoherent stereotypes with reality, in collision with every logical evidence. Moreover, I note that such epithets have never been seen in the newspapers for Netanyahu and for Israel, who have, indeed, sown, countless butchers, in Gaza, in Lebanon, in Syria, in Iran. I would say about Putin what I have already written many times: that he wages war with white gloves and that, fortunately, he has a cold blood and nerves of steel, so he does not resort to indiscriminate massacres, otherwise we would see in Ukraine the same horrors of Gaza.
