????????

Correction: this applies to SpringerMedicine dot com. At Springer dot com, I can still access it without accepting tracking.

I thought that professional publishers were supposed to be good at keeping websites up to date

Oh look, more #PublisherValueAdd

Thank you very much, Science Direct, for helpfully linking to AI generated definitions of and suggested readings about...
epileptic absence
decision making in social sciences
ethical dilemmas in social sciences

Perhaps the last one could be useful to some user, if you squint. The other two? Aaargh

I'm so glad that the authors presumably paid $4,900 to publish their paper OA in Cell Patterns -- what a nice user experience compared with the preprint /s

Very author-centered, Springer Nature, great #PublisherValueAdd

(note the URL that is getting a 404 error because Springer Nature has moved the info without bothering to put a redirect)

Either it's important enough to publish without editing (because, disclaimer aside, putting it on the Nature website - not some preprint server - definitely sounds like being published to me), and it's important enough that people outside of HIC academia need to read it

Or it's academic inside baseball, in which case people with Nature subscriptions could wait a day for the staff editors to do some #PublisherValueAdd

Q2 - from a #scholcomm perspective:
Is there a list of English-lanuage journals that produce multilingual abstracts? Is it conveniently marked by which ones do it in house as part of their #PublisherValueAdd and which ones leave it for the authors to do?
How does the Spanish (or other language) abstract get used for discovery in bibliographic databases?
What's the point of a graphical abstract that is so blurry I can't read it?
It's 113 dpi, and tiny, so that I have to zoom way in to see the text or the labels on the map.
