I was outraged again by the cheap and dirty bias of the public German media about the middle east, but I managed to channel my rage positively and sent this email today:

Sehr geehrter Herr Kersten, hiermit erhebe ich Programmbeschwerde gegen die Nachrichtenberichterstattung des Bayerischen Rundfunks vom 01.06.2026 (9-Uhr-Nachrichten, betreffend die militärischen Auseinandersetzungen zwischen den USA und Iran) (Audio, startet um 1:34). Nach meiner Auffassung vermittelt der Beitrag durch die Auswahl, Reihenfolge und Kontextualisierung der berichteten Ereignisse ein irreführendes Bild der tatsächlichen Abläufe. I reflected a little on what is happening at the BBC at the moment - and what all this means for #PublicServiceMedia in general. Just imagine a world without media that are primarily there to serve the public, or having only media that serve commercial, personal or (party) political interests?!
