And yes, #CalueRemoving C-level are for the most part a hinderance in any #PublicCorporation as they destroy R&D for "making quarterly number go up" then pocket the #bonuses and leave till the shitshow inevitably crashes...

I mean, look at the shitshow #Bayer is now:

  • Gutted #Research and #Development
  • Worst #Acquisition in Corporate History ( #Monsanto !)
  • All their products are either only riding on the decreasing momentum of #BrandRecognition whilst the overall quality doesn't improve, and in some cases even get worse. (See Anti-Tick - Collars of #BayerPetCare being developed solely for the #US market (cuz they shuttered the #EU division of the subsidiary ) thus making them completely ineffective as American and European Ticks ain't the same species!

@calcifer I just know that there have been precedents of #shareholders successfully sueing managment over loss of #dividents, loss of share value and loss of profits.

  • In fact a #PublicCorporation is obligated to maximize profit to the maximum legal extent possible without jeopardizing it's longterm existance, and so far this is precedented by cases.

If it was my decision I'd abolish those in favour of worker-owned #cooperatives but I guess that makes me an "evil commie" in the eyes of the #Bankster that leads #Germany's Government right now.

@nixCraft OFC you can't trust any #PublicCorporation as they are by law obligated to maximize profit by all means legal.

  • Espechally you can't trust #PRISM collaborators and Corporations subject to #CloudAct to not be evil!

@GrapheneOS I guess the problem is that like with any #PublicCorporation, they exist for #Business and their #ITsec team is merely an afterthought for #compliance and showmanship!

@gerrymcgovern like every #PublicCorporation, all #GAFAMs are inherently #unsustainable, as they are required per law to have perpetual, exponential growth under threat of being sued by investors!

@dysfun that's because in #Capitalism, a #PublicCorporation is only beholden and accountable to #shareholders and doing amythibg that doesn't maximize #profit or follows the majority of shareholders' interests is actually a violation of #law in most juristictions.

If any of the #GAFAMs wanted to be #sustainable, they'd be #Cooperatives instead of #Corporations!
